Product Recalls and Recall Awareness

The New York State Department of State Division of Consumer Protection aggressive pursuit of consumer protections in the area of product safety and recalls has yielded new laws, numerous resources and increased public awareness.

Product Recalls
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is responsible for issuing and monitoring consumer product recalls at the national level. The Division works closely with the CPSC on monitoring recalled products and ensuring that recall notifications are carried out properly. Because the CPSC continually issues new recalls, the Division recommends checking for recalls often.

Visit the Division's Consumer Alerts & Recalls page to view and sign up to receive the latest consumer product recalls.

Do you think a product is defective or hazardous? Report dangerous products to the CPSC's Consumer Product Incident Report center.

Juvenile Product Recall Awareness
Recall awareness tools and resources relating to toys and juvenile products can be found on the Safe Toys New York page.
