The New York State Department of State Division of Consumer Protection Safe Toys NY program includes toy testing, recall compliance checks, policy development, public awareness campaigns, industry outreach and targeted youth programming. The campaign's resources help families and children conduct their own product checks when shopping and at home.
To bolster marketplace safety, the Division helped advance the Product Safety and Recall Effectiveness Act of 2008, which was enacted into law in July 2008.
