The New York State Consumer Protection Board (CPB) is the sole agency to appear on behalf of consumers before the Public Service Commission (PSC), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO). The CPB's efforts realized significant benefits for electric and gas consumers in New York State and achieved millions of dollars in utility rate reductions. The CPB also actively participated in efforts supporting the expansion of energy efficiency initiatives, refinement of rules pertaining to Energy Service Companies' interaction with consumers and the maintenance of utility service reliability throughout New York State.
