Consumers can report scam or "phishing" e-mails to the following groups:
- The Anti-Phishing Working Group: forward the e-mail for phishing messages
- The Federal Trade Commission: forward the e-mail for spam messages
- The affected company: the "abuse" e-mail address at the company that is being spoofed (for example, "spoof@ebay.com")
Consumers may also notify the Internet Crime Complaint Center of the Federal Bureau of Investigations by filing a complaint on their website.
When forwarding scam or "phishing" messages, always include the entire original e-mail with its original header information intact.
