What is RSS?

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and enables the CPB and other content distributors to publish news frequently. RSS feeds enable people to keep up-to-date on the news from the CPB and other publishers that interest them the most - as it happens.

What are Podcasts?

Podcasts are similar to RSS.  They are a way to receive audio/video files over the Internet by using feeds to deliver them directly to you. You can listen to/watch the files on your computer, load them on your portable media player and take them with you.

How do I use RSS?

Subscribe to the New York State Department of State Division of Consumer Protection's RSS feeds to get the latest news. To subscribe please click on the orange RSS or purple Podcast button that corresponds with the feed you want news for.

RSS Aggregators

RSS/News Aggregators (also called Readers) will download and display RSS feeds for you. A number of free and commercial News Aggregators are available for download. Many aggregators are separate, "stand-alone" programs; other services will let you add RSS feeds to a Web page.
