If you have a problem with a home improvement contractor and can't resolve it yourself, you can file a complaint with the New York State Department of State Division of Consumer Protection online or by calling 1-800-697-1220. You can also complain to your local consumer protection office. In many cases, intervention by a government consumer protection agency can help resolve the matter.
